President’s Message

Hello! It’s been a while since Graduation hasn’t it? I can’t believe where many of you are today: Pastors, Church Planters, Missionaries, Police Officers, Teachers, Assistant Pastors, Youth Pastors, etc. Who would have thought that we would be where we are now?
When I graduated from Heartland I could never have imagined the place I am in today. God is very good. Let us know how God has been good to you!
Perhaps you do not understand what the Alumni Association does, well, you wouldn’t be the first! Let me take a few minutes and explain to you what the Alumni Association does for you, and for Heartland.
Think of it this way,
Get Connected
Stay Connected
Give Back
Get Connected:
Many of us have left Heartland and have taken off like a rocket into the various worlds of ministry, family life, and profession that God has led us. There hasn’t been time to connect with those friends, teachers, & memories that we left back at Heartland/Pacific Coast. Yet, most of us like to hear about the other classmates and events from Heartland and enjoy the fact that this person is now a Church Planter in NY, or that classmate is now a Youth Pastor in TX, or a graduate from last year will be going to the foreign field as a Missionary. I know, I know I didn’t mention specific names, but then again there are some of your names that aren’t Connected, and you know what? We want to hear your story.
Stay Connected
You are not alone. In this age of modern technology, there is no need for anyone, no matter how remote, to be totally disconnected from their friends and family. In some sense all Heartland grads and attendees are friends and family. Let me encourage you, through the convenience of the Alumni Association, to Stay Connected to the those you attended with, and with a whole new “crop” of Graduates who are also making their way into new ministries where they don’t know anyone. They could use a friend, a mentor, someone just to say,”Hey, what’s going on today?” For that matter, you could probably use the encouragement yourself! We are a group that believes some very specific things very strongly. Stay Connected and together we can encourage each other. We are making this easier as we now have a twitter account and a FaceBook page and soon we will have a Website!

Give Back
Those of us who have a love for Heartland, as I’m sure each of you do, feel a sense of debt to the college, the men, and the women that gave their time for us. Most of Heartland’s staff & faculty took a paycut to work there. Why? Because they had a love for God’s Word and the teaching of it. They honored God by their obedience to come and teach young, and old people the fundamentals of Baptist faith & doctrine. Let me encourage you to Give Back! The Alumni Association provides the faculty & staff of Heartland Baptist Bible College with a Christmas Bonus every year. This bonus is very minimal to say the least, and I am asking you personally to be a part of this! You can give in a couple of ways. The best way is to join the Alumni Association, which is VERY easy. There is now an online registration at https://heartlandbaptist.wufoo.com/forms/heartlandpacific-coast-alumni-association/.
I’m asking you to join the growing number of “Heartlanders” who love our college and want it to stay on the old paths.
Sincerely,
Tim Knutson, Alumni President
