Giving Back
On February 15, Richard Driehaus donated $30 million to DePaul University. On March 21, Harvard announced a $30 million gift from alumnus Joseph J. O’Donnell. Sam Bradford, an Oklahoma University alumnus, donated $500,000 to the OU Athletics Department just a few days ago. Too bad he didn’t play for Heartland.
If you add up all of my donations—past, present, and future—it probably would never come anywhere close to any of these previously mentioned donations. However, I still love giving to the Alumni Association because I know I’m helping Heartland when I do. One of my desires is that, when someone tours the Heartland campus, they would see evidence that Heartland alumni still care about the college and appreciate what they received from it. We alumni need to continue to work together to accomplish that worthy goal.
