Adam McGeorge – 2004 Graduate

Hi there, my name is Adam McGeorge, I’m and 2004 graduate of HBBC.
My wife, Christie (2001 HBBC grad) and I and our 3 boys are missionaries to Nauru, a small pacific island nation.
I’m an Australian by birth, who was saved under the work of Robert and Linda Howard, Missionaries to Australia, before coming to Bible College in the spring of 2001.
I’m thankful for my years at Heartland and all that I learned during my time in school, from the classroom (it was in missions class with Bro Larry Burgett, that i first heard of Nauru) from the preaching and from Ministry Experience. I also made some great friends during Bible College that are now pastors, church staff, missionaries and faithful servants of The Lord. I interned at different churches my last 2 summers as a student and then was the missions intern for 2 years at Whittier Lane Baptist Church, in New Castle, Indiana with my Father In law, Pastor Frank Wood.
We arrived on the field in 2008, in 2009 we started the International Baptist Church of Nauru. Pastor Robert and Linda Howard came to watch the work for 3 months when Titus was born in the fall of 2009. The work was organised in May 2010 when our home Pastor came to Nauru to visit the field. Leo and Cathy Paine, furlough relief missionaries, came to Nauru to fill in for us during our first furlough, May2012-April 2013. We had our first mission conference in July 2013 when our nearest neighbour missionary, Joel Daku came over from Kiribati to preach our conference. The Lord continues to build his church on Nauru, and we are praying that he will provide land for the church so that we can have our own land and building in His time.
I feel that my time at HBBC prepared me well for ministry, raising support during our two years of deputation and missionary life on the field. I didn’t learn absolutely everything I needed to know [like how to work on my diesel generator :)…you know your not really a missionary unless you have a diesel generator, in my opinion :)] but barely a day goes by that I don’t use my Bible College training in some way on the mission field.
We enjoy getting back to the school on furlough to be part of meetings and see the staff and students and seeing many of our Bible College friends during our furlough travels is an encouragement to us. For us, its important to stay connected to the HBBC family who have invested so much in us. We really enjoy the Spirit of Heartland, there is no other place quite like it. I’d like to encourage the current students to do their best, learn all they can, stay tender to the Lord, finish their course and serve The Lord wherever he leads them.
Bro Adam McGeorge,
Missionary to Nauru
