Carlos Serrano – 2005 Graduate

I began my first year at Heartland Baptist Bible College in the fall of 2002 and graduated in May of 2005. It was a wonderful and life changing experience to attend Heartland. God used Heartland to instill some very important ministry philosophy in my life which I use in my ministry and everyday life.

The college gave me tools to use in ministry but more than that it helped me to develop a meaningful relationship with Christ. It also gave me a deeper understanding on how to scripturally study the Word of God.

Furthermore, it was during my time at Heartland that God stirred within me a passion to preach His Word. God has led me to plant Bible Baptist Church in Delano, California, where I currently pastor. The church was organized in March of 2009. I had the privilege of seeing the church start with just my wife and kids to seeing people get saved and baptized and now serving in various ministries of the church. The church now supports church planters,
evangelists, and missionaries in foreign soil through faith promise missions giving. God also gave me an opportunity to have a public school ministry, where every week I have the opportunity to preach to teenagers and some teachers. God opened the door to the state prison located in our city to preach to those that are incarcerated. The inmates are often receptive and ready to make a decision for Christ. Bible Baptist Church also started a Spanish ministry as there are many Spanish speaking people in our community. God has graciously blessed His church in Delano.

One can only enjoy the true blessings of God when they stay faithful to the One that is faithful. As a note of encouragement to HBBC students: Stay faithful, because faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
